Styled Shoot at The Met Hotel in Leeds

Styled Shoot at The Met Hotel in Leeds

We’re privileged to work with an ever-expanding Team of leading industry experts and to have an access all areas pass to some of Yorkshire’s most beautiful hidden gems when it comes to Wedding Venues; a prime example of which, can be found in the latest addition to our Portfolio – the Met Hotel in Leeds – a much loved Victorian Landmark amidst the vibrant Cityscape, designed in the 1800’s by local Architects Chorley and Cannon.

Much like the Architects behind the creation of the building did, we approached this shoot with what started as a sketch by shoot coordinator Ellanna, teaming it with a collaboration of ideas from hand-picked, local Suppliers, with elements of styling which encapsulated subtle hints from each of the eras which inspired the overall aesthetic of the Met.

Wedding Inspiration Leeds

The intricate terracotta façade leads to a contrasting interior, up a marble stairway and into bright, open spaces lit with modern chandeliers, alongside a fusion of grand and ornate craftsmanship that tells the story of how the building has transitioned through the artistic eras. The detailing continues through to The Ballroom, lined on either side with columns, illuminated by hundreds of festoon lights and framed by one of the most notable original features – the floor to ceiling, glazed entrance archway.

It’s well known that arches are timeless structures with infinite symbolism; they embody strength and support, they represent a threshold through which one can enter a new perspective and denote renewal and new beginnings, which is very much the foundation for marital vows too, lending itself perfectly as the creative concept behind our latest styled photoshoot.

We combined delicate, dried florals by Sharon at Down to Earth Florist alongside a showstopping, five-tier cake, with florals to mirror the bouquet and fondant work reflecting the architecture of the building by Rachel of Layers and Lemons Cake Design.

Elements of the exquisite piping work were also based on a Gatsby-inspired gown by Ronald Joyce, handpicked by Sallyanne at Ever After Bridal Wear, modeled by Emi Huffinley, and alluringly styled by Karen at Get Gorgeous Makeup, Hair and Beauty who paired a soft, sophisticated up-do with a bold statement lip to match the red brick frontage of the Met.

The tablescape was a culmination of luxury stationery by Jane at Simply Stylish – Handmade Wedding Invitations, offset with beaded Centrepieces and more single stem florals by Down to Earth Florist in crystal cut vases, all framed with dressed arches by Alison at Leeds Event Décor who transformed the space with a romantic, candlelight aisle leading to elegant drapery with neon signage for a modern twist.

Each of the elements came together to harmoniously complement one another, and the final result has been expertly frozen in time by John Steel Photography, who quite literally stopped traffic to get the final shot of the evening, of the beautiful Bride taking a moment in the hustle and bustle of the City by night.
